You’ve probably heard of essential oils and the wonderful smell they can permeate throughout your home. But there’s more to it than just throwing a few drops of them into a diffuser.

There are many home essentials we use that have all sorts of toxic ingredients in them. Don’t get me wrong; I am guilty of purchasing items without even thinking about their ingredients. However, recently I’ve found a few easy ways to make non-toxic home essentials with my young living essential oils. Try out some of these non-toxic home essentials.

Are your hands dry from the cold winter and washing them? Try this DIY exfoliating soap recipe.

What you’ll need:

  • 6 oz. Glycerin Soap

  • 1 tbsp. Coconut Oil

  • 1 tbsp. Cornmeal

  • Your favorite Essential Oils

-Cut your soap into 1 inch cubes and add to pot, add coconut oil, stir over medium heat

-Add around 30 drops of your favorite essential oils (my favorite is to add 10 drops of lemon, 10 drops of rosemary, 10 drops of sage)

-Add cornmeal

-Pour into molds

There can be harmful ingredients in liquid fabric softeners and dryer sheets. Try out this clean DIY fabric softener.

What you’ll need:

  • 1 Cup of Epson Salt

  • ¼ Cup of Baking Soda

  • 15 drops of Essential Oils

-Mix the baking soda and Epsom salts together.

-Add in 15 drops of your favorite essential oils

-Add three tablespoons of this into washer for every load of laundry

Need an all-purpose cleaner? Try this one out.

What you’ll need:

  • ½ cup Vinegar

  • 1 ½ cups warm water

  • 15 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil

  • 15 drops of Lemon Essential Oil

-Mix all of these ingredients into a spray bottle, and there you have a toxin-free cleaning solution for your home!
