Any guesses as to where this door may lead?
I’ll give you a hint. It used to be my least favorite household task. (I now have a pretty laundry room, so vacuuming has assumed the most dreaded position.)
Yep. It’s the laundry chute door. This is a feature in our home that is used everyday. Why is it so wonderful? Our kids love using it, which means no dirty clothes on their bedroom floor. And, no collecting from upstairs and three separate bedrooms and lugging it downstairs every week. When I’m ready to do laundry, everything is just there waiting for me.
While we’re on the subject of doors, we had a lot of fun choosing our door hardware for the house. We found these distressed aged bronze door knobs and just fell in love with them.
However, we didn’t feel the kids would have such an appreciation for them, nor would 90% of visitors ever venture upstairs. So, for about 1/3 the price, we came up with this substitute for all of the upstairs doors.
This is a great example of utilizing a “Character Rich” feature and implementing a “Smart Design.” No matter what your budget may be, it’s worth it to take
