Today I want to introduce you to one of our awesome owners, Sara Joyner!  She is always buzzing around keeping her hand in everything in the office. She’s intelligent and friendly and funny; she’s just the best!!

How long have you worked at Joyner Homes?
Since the beginning – 15 years!

What do you do at JH?
I do a little bit of everything! Mostly, I work behind the scenes managing the operations and the day to day happenings to make sure everything runs smoothly. I love to focus on special projects and find ways improve the experience for our customers and employees! “Do It Better” is one of our core values and I’m always looking for ways to make this happen!

If you could switch jobs with someone in Joyner Homes, who would it be? Why?
Over the years, I’ve filled in for a lot of different positions. I have to say, I like mine the best so I guess that’s good! ☺️ My next favorite would have to be Gina’s role in marketing. I loved finding new and creative ways to showcase our homes and encouraging people to visit our model. The event planning aspect is fun too!

What 3 words would you use to describe Joyner Homes?
Unique, Fun, Community-Based

What do you do when you’re not at work?
Spend time with Tom and our three kids. They keep us busy! I don’t have any exciting hobbies, but I do like to travel, read, and run occasionally.

What random facts can you share with us?
Tom and I are high school sweethearts and were married while still in college together. We moved to LA right after school with no jobs and everything we owned in a U-Haul!

Are you messy or organized?
I am definitely an organized-messy type. I know my system for things, but it may not look like it from the outside observer!

What’s your favorite outside activity?
Tom is the outdoors-y one in our family! I like walking and hiking, but I’d probably just rather be outside by a pool or beach with a book in hand!

If you could change something about today’s youth, what would it be? Alternately, what excites you about today’s young generation?
The first thing that comes to mind is to take away all of their phones! ☺️ But, I do think that this generation will be one of the most creative for the same reason. The amount of technology they all have access to is quite incredible. We’ve come a long way since I was a kid and had to play Oregon Trail on a floppy disk!

What would you tell your 13-year old self?
Buckle up because you’re about to go on quite an adventure!

How do you define success?
Being happy and content with what we have and where we are in life.
