Joyner Homes Team Spotlight – Katie Sanford
June 6, 2019    POSTED IN  About UsHome

Today I want to introduce you to our Accountant, Katie Sanford. You’ll find Katie quietly hiding in our office downtown. I think it’s safe to say she’s the sweetest one of the bunch! 🙂

How long have you worked at Joyner Homes?
Two Years

What do you do at JH?
Accounting and bookkeeping

If you could switch jobs with someone in Joyner Homes, who would it be? Why?
Maybe Sandy, our designer. Then when things turn out stunning I could say, “I know, I’m awesome.” And when they turn out less than stunning I could say, “Yeah…that person had interesting taste…”

What 3 words would you use to describe Joyner Homes?
Company: Professional, down-to-earth, sharp. Homes: Modern, personal, unique

What do you do when you’re not at work?
Jump on the trampoline, watch Food Network, and play cards with my daughter. Spend as much time as possible outside, whether yardwork, hiking, gardening, or camping…I love it all. Last thing, cook fresh and delicious!

What random facts can you share with us?

I started college as a piano major. I’ve been skydiving. I haul between 3-8 kids to church with me every Sunday. I have an incurable sweet tooth, especially chocolate. My daughter has worn hearing aids her whole life, and my dad lived with ALS for ten years, so I’ve chocked up some experience with loved ones with disabilities…has blown wide open my compassion for others and my gratefulness for the little things.

Are you messy or organized?
A little of both

What’s your favorite outside activity?
Oh geez…all of it! Favorite, probably doing yardwork or jumping on the trampoline with my daughter.

If you could change something about today’s youth, what would it be? Alternately, what excites you about today’s young generation?
What I would change…I would convince them all that God loves them, just as they are, just right now. What excites me about children in particular is their ability to live in this moment, no concern about dirty hands or muddy shoes or dishes that need done.

What would you tell your 13-year old self?
You do you. And allow everyone else the same freedom. Because we’re all in this together.

How do you define success?
Living out where your deep calling meets the world’s deep need.

I hope you are enjoying our member spotlight! I’ll trickle through the entire team in the next several weeks ….. in the meantime, you can see and read more about who we are HERE.
