As you likely know by now, our office is in Hancock County Indiana in historic Downtown Greenfield. And, you may also know that Hancock County is right in the heart of Indiana. Almost all of the members of our team, 11 out of 12, live in the county. The only one that doesn’t live here is just over the border and spends most of his time here between work, church, and other activities.
So, why did we all choose to call Hancock County home? More importantly, why should YOU do the same?! Read on to find out!
There’s just something about a small town that is a little slower paced, a little friendlier, and a lot more pleasant. Most of us have lived here long enough to know we are likely to know someone almost everywhere you go! Quaint, Downtown Greenfield is bustling with activity and State Road 9 has great retail to offer. But, drive a few minutes in any direction, and you will find yourself in beautiful, Indiana, farm-country!
Our sense of community is strong and not a week goes by without a small town event like the 4-H Fair, Music on the Plaza, the Pennsy Trail Art Festival, or a Chocolate Walk. Our community is known for coming together to support our own and it shows with all of the local fundraisers for schools, community members, churches, and township departments.

While we love the small town feel, we also love hopping in the car for a quick 20-30 minute drive to take advantage of what Indianapolis has to offer. That proximity allows Hancock County residents to take advantage of all the amenities a bigger city has to offer! Sports fans can cheer on professional football, basketball, soccer, and baseball teams, or maybe even take in a Roller Derby match. In the summer, outdoor dining and concerts take over the nightlife while in the winter, cozy restaurants and shopping fill our days and nights.

EXTRA BONUS! There may be other communities with similar proximity to Indianapolis, but few can boast about their drive times during rush hour traffic. Whether it be to the north side or Downtown Indy, our suburbs have some of the fastest commuting times!
Now, here’s where the list gets really long! Without leaving the county, we have access to just about anything we could need. Of course, we have the bigger grocery stores and retail spots, which help us out with our necessities. But, what really sets us apart are our local businesses! Spread throughout the county, you will find local establishments tucked in all corners of Hancock County Indiana – Greenfield, Fortville, New Palestine and more. We have a few highlighted here, but feel free to let us know your favorites in the comments if they’re not listed!
Greenfield – Lincoln Square Pancake House, Carnegie’s Restaurant, Griggsby’s Station, The Mug, Wooden Bear Brewing Company, Lucy Couture Boutique, Miller’s Jewelry, Ella June’s, Cynthia’s Hallmark, Hometown Comics, Francis and Fern
Fortville – The Vagabond Girls, Kewpie’s Closet, Sunrise Bakery, FoxGardin, Taxman Fortville, At Home With Us
New Palestine – Frosty Boy, New Palestine Hardware, The Rose Lady, Round the Corner Pub, Brew52
All four of our public schools in Hancock County Indiana boast outstanding academics, extra curricular activities, and athletics. Each school serves a specific area of the county, but each offer open enrollment for students out of district if that is a better fit. Many of us attended these schools and are proud to send our children to them as well!
