Welcome to our JH Employee Spotlight! This is a good opportunity to celebrate our employees, as well as get to know everyone a little better. Here is one of our Project Managers, Tyson Chastain!
Q. Tell us a little about your family
A. My wife Nina and I have 3 kids. Nina is a Greenfield native, but we live in Franklin Township now. Our kids are Jude (8), Maya (10) and River (12). They keep us busy taking them to their sports most of the time. River and Jude are baseball players and Maya loves playing basketball. We look forward to vacations together and a day on the lake in the summer.
A. Pacers, Colts and Indian games, Irvington Halloween festival, Monroe lake.
Q. Favorite travel memory?A. Snorkeling in Hawaii and any of our big friends vacations we have done. We have several families that have been doing things together since before our kids and now all of our kids are best friends too, so its fun when we all get to vacation together.
Q. Favorite memory at Joyner Homes?A. The pickled peddler employee trip was always one of my favorites. Really any bus ride to an employee trip never fails to entertain. But for a more work-related memory, we don't usually get to see the homeowners when they take possession, but this past week getting to see the 400th customer take possession and see how happy they were with their new home will probably stick with me.
Q. What is your biggest accomplishment? (personal or work)A. The obvious answer is the family that I have been a part of creating with my wife and kids. But more goal related would probably be getting my second bachelor's degree in construction. My wife and I both decided to go back to school right after we were married; we both worked full time jobs, I worked an extra part time as well, while also going to school full time. We were able to pay our way through school and obtain degrees in the fields we have now been in since.
Q. What is one thing you can't live without?A. Probably my bow. Or my boat.
