About a month ago, we broke ground on The Buckeye in the Cumberland Falls subdivision. This home is a very efficient design with just under 1,600 square feet, three bedroom and two bathrooms, a partial basement and a covered back deck. It is a very open floor plan which will be great for entertaining, and it will have a fireplace in the great room that will be seen from the kitchen as well. This all sounds very cozy as I look at the snow outside my window right now!

This is the exterior rendering of the home. The paint colors will be more in the cream family however and the exterior will be a combination of brick and siding with stone as an accent feature on the columns.

As with all of our Joyner Homes’ customers, we invited the owners out for an official groundbreaking. Don’t they look happy!

After digging out the basement, the footers are poured. Isn’t that a huge piece of machinery?

Next up are the basement walls.

On this home and a few others, we’re able to use the brick concrete forms which gives unfinished basement walls a very neat look. If you look closely, you can see the brick pattern in the wall.

This is a view of the part of the home that does not have a basement. The partial basement is one of the “Smart Design” features of this home. The homeowner needed a little extra space for storage, but did not need a full basement. A partial basement is a great place to save a little money.

Lumber should be delivered soon and framing will commence. I get to meet with the customer tomorrow to finalize all of the interior selections and then we can just sit back and enjoy watching the construction of the home!
